New compromise
When it comes to the safety of you and your family, Volkswagen genuine brake discs and pads are the added protection you need. Rain or shine, long haul or a short burst to a local cafe, compromise nothing with genuine parts.

Volkswagen Genuine Brakes perform optimally with your braking system. They are designed precisely for your Volkswagen's top speed and its weight. For quality that goes beyond the statutory ECE-R90 brake standard.
Some of the benefits:
To ensure the safest driving experience, your brakes must be tailored exactly to your Volkswagen's engine performance, weight and top speed. Volkswagen genuine brake discs and pads take the guess work out of safety by ensuring an exact match every time.
If your "Brake" control warning light is flashing, we recommend you contact your approved Volkswagen service centre. Only a Volkswagen trained specialist should be working on your brakes.
To engage a gear, depress the brake pedal.
Flashes: The locking button in the selector lever has not clicked into place.
Starting will be prevented. To engage a gear, depress the brake pedal and click the selector lever lock into place.
If this warning light appears don't panic, simply pull over to the side of the road and contact your 24/7 roadside assistance centre on 0800 577 599.
This light could mean either the handbrake is applied, if so, release it. In other cases, brake fluid may be low or the brake system may be faulty, in either case the vehicle needs to be immediately transported to the nearest Volkswagen service centre for further inspection.
If this warning light is showing on the dash, this is a good indication that it's time to book a service with your local approved Volkswagen service centre. The trained technicians will check the pads and replace, where necessary.
When you brake, the brake discs that rotate with the wheels are gripped by brake pads, slowing the car down. Both discs and pads can become worn and corroded, so it's vital they are checked regularly for your safety.
If your brakes aren't maintained regularly you won't be able to brake as efficiently. As well as reduced stopping power, worn or corroded brake parts can make your car vibrate and become really noisy.
We measure the brake pad wear level. If the pads or discs are worn, corroded or warped we will let you know so we can arrange to replace them. It is not always necessary to remove the wheels to check the brake pads (pad wear/thickness, disc condition), but where a further detailed inspection is required (or if the wheel does not allow full visibility) the wheel(s) may be removed.
