The new Golf. The legacy continues

The Golf is the vehicle that has shaped its own class for generations. And now the new Golf is setting a new milestone for the next generation with little additions to the iconic design, intuitive technology and evolutionary safety features. The benchmark just keeps getting better.

A Little More Golf.

Features & Design.

Golf

Exterior

Versatility meets elegance.

A Golf at first glance, and boasting a striking, confident appearance like every generation of the Golf – from the newly designed headlights and bumpers and the dynamic radiator grille to the rear diffuser and expressive LED tail light cluster.

Golf

Wheels

Roll in style.

To complete the iconic Golf look, there are a selection of stylish alloys available. Starting from 16 inch Toronto alloys on the Comfortline, 17 inch Dijon alloys on the Highline and the R-Line with 18 inch Sebring alloys.

Golf

Lights

Light up the road.

The standard halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights offer a clear view, even in difficult lighting conditions. Thanks to their headlight range control, which is also included as standard, the headlight range is adapted to suit various load levels.

Golf

Interior.

A little more room for comfort.

The interior of the new Golf invites you to sit down immediately and not get up again until you absolutely have to. This is thanks mainly to the generous proportions, which offer both front and rear occupants plenty of leg room. The vehicle interior is also distinguished by universally high-quality materials and a wide range of intelligent detailed solutions.

A little more zest.

Golf

Treat yourself to the Golf R-Line package for a little something extra. The upgrade includes 18 inch alloys, sport seats, R-Line sports steering wheel with gear shift paddles, R-Line spoiler, sports suspension, topped off with the premium R-Line badge. What's more the back of the R-Line hatch stands out from the crowd with trapezoidal exhausts and LED tail lamps with running indicators.

There are also additional safety, technology and display packages available that you can add to make it uniquely yours. To find out more, see the specification sheet for the full R-Line options.

Golf Wagon

Performance

Powerful enough to handle almost anything.

The TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines are designed for high levels of power with low fuel consumption while still being responsive and fun to drive.

TSI petrol engines feature impressive performance and efficiency. You benefit from maximum torque even at low engine speeds. The combination of low displacement with a turbocharger and direct fuel injection creates a very even transmission of power in these powertrains.

Rear View Camera

See what’s behind you, in front of you.

Whether reversing out of a busy parking lot or trying to squeeze into a tricky spot, an extra set of eyes are always handy. The Rear View Camera installed at the back of the car, displays a live picture on your screen that shows what’s behind you. Coupled with parking sensors, reversing is now safer and easier.

Keyless Entry & Start

Convenience is key.

Searching for your keys are now a thing of the past. You can start the engine of your Golf at the press of the starter button, while leaving your keys in your bag. Proximity sensors detect your key within 1.5 metres of the car, meaning it can automatically unlock as you pull the door handle. Keyless entry and start (KESSY). Feature is standard on the Golf Highline and R-Line.

Gesture Control

Small gestures make all the difference.

Small gestures can achieve a lot in everyday life, but also when it comes to gesture control in your car. This function makes it even more convenient to operate the optional Discover Pro system (available on the Highline and R-Line).

It enables you to easily move around in the main menu and various submenus using a swipe gesture to switch pages. For example, with just a single hand movement, you can switch radio station.

Safety Features

Golf

Stay relaxed in busy streets.

The intelligent driver assistance systems in your Golf ensure more driving comfort and can help you deal with critical situations very well or even avoid them*. Even if you only notice this technology on rare occasions, it feels good to know that it is there.

*Safety technologies are not a substitute for the driver’s responsibility of the vehicle.

Front Assist

The available Forward Collision Warning system (included in Front Assist) has sensors in the front to help monitor traffic and can alert you to a potential collision. If a collision is imminent, Autonomous Emergency Braking (included in Front Assist) can help brake the car.

Golf

Park Assist

Park like a machine.

Using sensors on either side of the front and rear bumpers, together with parking distance sensors front and rear, Park Assist actively helps you 90 degree park, back into a park and get in and out of a parallel park. Park Assist is available as part of the optional Driver Assistance Package.

Golf

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Cruise on through.

The cruise control system with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) lets you set the speed you want to travel and the gap you want to allow between you and the car in front. Using a radar sensor, the car then maintains your speed and your distance. In doing so it makes life easier for the driver, particularly on long journeys, and reduces the risk of exceeding the speed limit. ACC is available as part of the optional Driver Assistance Package.
